The adorable yellow creatures re-imagined the NBC comedy's famous opening credits.
One thing you'd never think you'd see? The Minions in The Office universe. Yes, we're talking about those adorable yellow bug-eyed creatures from Despicable Me trading in their jobs as Gru's henchman for Dunder Mifflin.
In a nostalgic new video short released by Peacock, we see the Minions recreate the famous opening credits of NBC's Emmy-winning mockumentary series. The comedy first premiered in 2005 and aired for nine seasons before coming to an end in 2012, but it still remains one of the most-watched shows in TV history—thanks in large part to the accessibility of streaming services like Peacock.
Set to the series theme song, the clip shows our favorite Minions as the Office's most-beloved characters, including Kevin as Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Stuart as Jim (John Krasinski), and Bob as Pam (Jenna Fischer). And naturally, Gru portrays Michael Scott. (Steve Carell played both lead characters in each respective franchise.)
Super fans will also catch recreations of some of the series' most memorable scenes, from Jim's Jell-O stapler prank, Kevin's chili tumble, and Dwight's hilariously creepy CPR mask. The delightful video was created to honor Carell and the upcoming film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, which is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 1. The movie marks the fifth film since 2010 in the Despicable Me and Minions universe.
